And if you would like us to make up a vegan hamper especially for you you can choose a Christmas food gift box, starting at £10 and let us know the recipient is vegan.
Vegan and cruelty free personal care
When buying gifts for vegans there are a few things you might need to consider. Are the products cruelty-free, not tested on animals (none of the products at Baba Me are tested on animals) and do they contain products that come from animals?
Often even natural organic products will contain ingredients that vegans would not wish to use such as milk, honey, and animal hair as well as more obscure products such as guanine, crushed fish scales, that is found in many lipsticks and nail polishes, or other ingredients such as lanolin, gelatin, retinol, collagen or tallow.
We’ve got lots of amazing options for vegans including vegan nail polish, vegan shaving soap, vegan deodorant, shampoo and conditioner bars and vegan accessories.
Other gifts for vegans
Other than food and toiletries there are a few things that are notably not vegan as they are made with animal products including beeswax, wool, silk and leather.
Luckily there are loads of great plant-based and cruelty-free options available so if you really love the beeswax wraps and want to share the joy with your vegan friends simply choose the vegan version.
Likewise if you were thinking of treating someone to a cosy new throw instead of choosing one made from wool opt for one made from recycled acrylic or organic cotton. Recycled plastic bottles might not be something you think of as being warm and cosy but these throws really are lovely and soft and they wash well which is another benefit.
We also have a great range of bamboo socks that are a great alternative to wool.
