Why Choose Eco-Friendly Bathing Accessories
There are plenty of things you can replace in your bathroom to make it more eco-friendly. Eco-friendly bathing accessories will allow you to replace even more plastic products with sustainably produced items that moves you closer towards a zero waste lifestyle.
The bathroom is one of the easiest places to make eco-friendly swaps that will reduce your plastic waste and your overall environmental impact. There are so many items you can work through and replace as and when you need to including your toothbrush and toothpaste (a remarkable amount of plastic over a lifetime), shaving products, plastic bottles of shampoo, shower gel and conditioner and even things like replacing cotton wool with reusable makeup remover pads.
Our range of eco-friendly bathing accessories will help you green up your bath time replacing plastic soap dishes, shower puff and scrubbies with natural eco-friendly alternatives and helping you effectively make the switch to solid bar soaps and shampoos that will also drastically reduce your bathroom waste and environmental impact.
Eco-Friendly Bathroom Swaps
There are so many eco-friendly bathroom swaps from reusable razors to bamboo toothbrushes. Here are some of our favourites including bathing accessories, zero waste bathing products and reusable menstrual products.
There are plenty of things we use every day in the bathroom that are either single use or we throw away and replace regularly that can simply be swapped with eco-friendly alternatives. This includes your plastic toothbrush that can be swapped with a bamboo one that works exactly the same, your disposable razor that can be replaced with a reusable safety razor, eco-friendly bamboo cotton buds, and reusable face wipes to replace cotton wool pads.
Each of these small swaps will have a big impact on the amount of rubbish that goes in your bathroom bin and very little impact on your daily routine. So next time you are replacing your toothbrush or razor think about looking for an eco-friendly option. You can even switch your toothpaste to plastic free toothpaste tabs.
Plastic Free Bathing Accessories
As well as brushing their teeth most people shower if not once a day then at least a couple of times a week so switching your bath products and accessories can make a big difference to how sustainable your bathroom is. One of the biggest single use plastic sources in our bathrooms is bottles from shampoo, showergel and conditioner. Thankfully there are now really great zero waste options including solid bars and refills. If you switch to solid bars you will need to look after them slightly differently, allowing them to drain and dry out after use in either a soap saver bag or soap dish. And regardless of whether you use solid or liquid soap there are some fantastic natural alternatives to plastic shower puffs.
Waste Free Periods
If you menstruate then it might be that period products are one of the key causes of bathroom waste. But even these can be easily switched to waste free eco-friendly alternatives including washable sanitary pads and menstrual cups.
Cups are a little different to use than tampons but reusable pads are almost identical to use apart from the fact that one you throw in the bin and the other you throw in the washing machine. And in both cases any cons are far outweighed by the benefits both to you personally and to the planet.
