Wooden Animal Toys Storage Ideas
As your child grows, so is his toy collection. He might have started with just a few toys but now her toys are so many that they’re strewn on the floor. This could be dangerous to you and your child especially if you step on a wooden animal toy lying around.
Storage & Organisation
Storing and organising animal toys, or any toy for that matter, is actually easy and simple. There are many storage solutions you can buy from department stores or online.
One of the most common and probably the most popular storage solutions is the storage basket. Depending on how many toys your child has, you can either go for small or large storage baskets. Some of these containers are made from plastic. Should you buy one of these containers, buy something that is transparent so you can easily see the toys inside.
However, you want to take the eco-friendly route which we highly recommend because frankly plastic is not good for the environment, choose storage baskets that are made from natural materials like jute and rattan.
Lidless bins are also popular as toy storage among parents. If space is not an issue, you can place these bins on top of a bookcase or cabinet. One good tip is to tilt these bins to show what’s inside. This makes it easy for your child to get the toys she wants to play.
Old and unused shopping bags or tote bags are also great storage containers for wooden toys. You can apply command hooks on your walls to hang your tote bags filled with toys. There are many adhesive hooks that are easy to apply and do not require tools.
If your child is old enough and has interest in arts and crafts, both you and your child can make your own storage containers. You can make DIY crates out of rulers and other wooden materials. However, keep in mind that some of these DIY projects may require you to have power tools so if you don’t have them, stay with simple DIY storage container designs.
Actually you do not need any storage solutions if all of your child’s toys are made from wood. Generally, wooden toys can double as home or nursery decor. You can incorporate them seamlessly to your decorations. Wooden toy animals for example, are great toys for early development that are also fantastic decorations that you can line up on top of a table to show your child’s interest in animals.
If your child no longer wants to play with her wooden animal toys, you can safely store them away in your attic or basement. Wherever you decide to store these toys, make sure that the room is not damp and not vulnerable to the elements.
It’s recommended to clean your wooden animal toys before storing them away for a long time. Sun-dry them if possible and make sure that they are dry before you put them inside a storage container.
